In honor of President's Day this weekend, I am sharing more about my surreal encounter with 43 larger than life former U.S. Presidents.

So, what are the President Heads you might ask?

Standing tall and proud, the busts are remnants of what was once Presidents Park in Williamsburg, VA.  The original $10 million investment in the park's colossal statues was inspired when Houston-based sculptor, David Ackies, visited Mt. Rushmore....

Yesterday, a friend and I visited the spring tulip festival at Burnside Farms, one of the world's largest pick-you-own flower farms.

There is nothing prettier than fields of flowers as far as you can see!

If you have never been before, it’s well worth it!  Besides for the most amazing photo opportunities (bring your family photographer!), you can pick your own tulips and daffodils!

Sadly, they lost half of their 7 acres of pick...

Is watching a performance by Cirque du Soleil on your bucket list?  Now is your chance!

Cirque du Soleil LUZIA has made its stop under the Big Tent in Tysons Corner, VA until May 27th.  Sean and I went with some close friends and this show is a big hit!

This was my second Cirque du Soleil show and I equally enjoyed them both.  Each show is totally unique and offers a different set of skills and talents.   I had the opportunity...

Step back in time and enjoy a treat at one of Virginia’s favorite drive-in restaurants.

I first heard of Doumar's from some clients of mine in Hampton, VA - they described it as a must-see historic landmark in Norfolk with some of the best ice cream around.  So, of course, I wanted to try it!

Doumar's has been in business since 1904 and has been located on Monticello Avenue in Norfolk, VA since 1934.  They have delighted d...

Norfolk Botanical Gardens first hosted the magical LanternAsia Art by Day, Magic by Night exhibit in 2016.  Sadly, I was unable to attend in prior years, but when I found out that Norfolk Botanical Gardens would be hosting this event for the third year in a row, I knew I could not miss this opportunity to go see it in person this year!

This spring, Norfolk Botanical Garden has again transformed the Garden’s landscape with colo...

I was one of the lucky ones to get the flu this winter season.  I hope you were not!  Although I felt better, I still had a lingering hacking cough that just wouldn't go away...

We have been traveling to Williamsburg, Virginia every winter for the past 5-6 years and had heard about the Williamsburg Salt Spa before.  I was intrigued, but never managed to schedule a visit into one of our trips.  However, with my linge...

I probably get more excited about animals than anything else, so we try to incorporate a unique animal experience into our vacations whenever we can.

The Virginia Safari Park is located in Rockbridge county, at exit 180/180-B off I-81 in Natural Bridge, Virginia tucked away at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is conveniently located in the Shenandoah Valley, only minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and historic Lex...

Last week, I vacationed in Virginia Beach for two nights.  While I was in town, I had the pleasure of touring the newly renovated Cavalier Hotel which is scheduled to reopen it's grand doors next week on March 7, 2018.

Old Photo courtesy of the Cavalier Hotel

Some say the Cavalier Hotel is what put Virginia Beach on the map.  The iconic Cavalier Hotel was constructed after Virginia Beach's Princess Anne Hotel burned down in 1...

The Natural Bridge in Virginia is truly spectacular!  You don't even have to be religious to get the feeling of the supernatural.

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and within the Washington & Jefferson National Forest, Natural Bridge is an easy 3 hour drive from the DC Metro.  As you near the Lexington area, the views of the mountains are absolutely beautiful!

We visited Natural Bridge in 2015 on a deto...

The Omni Homestead Resort is our home away from home.  It is a special place for us as we chose to mini-moon here for a few days after our wedding in 2011.  We look forward to a luxurious, relaxing getaway at the majestic 250 year old resort each year.

Located in the middle of the Allegheny Mountains, it's only a short 4 hour drive from Washington, DC, making it an easy weekend getaway.  We don't always drive it in o...
